The Bentley Corniche Convertible is an incredibly rare motor car with super low production numbers. Some reports suggest just 31 RHD examples were ever built and this particular Bentley has a believed genuine mileage of 87000 and is finished in its correct colour combination. Since 2018 KYL 4P has had a staggering £70,000 spent on ensuring the car is outstanding throughout. Equally as impressive is the cars reliability, drivability and high level of comfort. We collected the Bentley on Park Lane in Mayfair, drove the car faultlessly to Goodwood before driving the car back here to Yorkshire covering over 350 faultless miles. This is a car that can be driven with absolute confidence. Supplied new by Jack Barclay Ltd, London, the cars first owner took delivery shortly before Sir Elton John collected his very similar car (KYL 18P) from the Berkeley Square showroom in Mayfair. KYL 4P was ordered new in Brewster Green with Beige leather and specification included front fog lights, quartz iodine headlights and Sundym glass. The Bentley didn't have to travel far from the showroom with its first owner being a resident in Williams Mews, SW1. Having led its early life in London, the Bentley headed to the US, spending many years in Florida before being shipped back to the U.K, spending some time on the Isle of Man, before being owned by a prominent car collector in the Music industry before coming into the hands of one of our London based clients who is now looking to move from the U.K., hence the reason the Bentley is on the market.


From late 2018 to 2021 over £30,000 was spent with highly regarded specialists Clark and Carter Restorations Ltd. A comprehensive file of reports and invoices detail a major mechanical overhaul to include brake, suspension, steering and general hydraulics overhaul. In late 2023 the Bentley was back with Clark and Carter for further work, and then Ranmore Service and Engineering for bodywork and paintwork, ensuring removal of any corrosion with areas taken back to bare metal. The program of work over 2023/2024 totalled £35,000 and our client during 2025 has spent around £8000 on mechanical, electrical and trim work. This includes a new Europa sound system and new lambswool over rugs.



There is no doubt this rare Bentley is in exceptional mechanical condition having had major recommissioning with highly regarded specialists with no expense spared. KYL 4P drives superbly as demonstrated with us for over 350 miles, the car really does not disappoint. The car has wonderful presence and certainly presents incredibly well throughout. This is clearly a carefully owned, low mileage car that has been treated with no expense spared. The body is lovely and straight, the paint finish delightful and chrome work gleams throughout. The interior is beautiful, the hood excellent and working perfectly, and it's nicely finished with a recently replaced Green mohair hood envelope. This is a wonderful example, it's a rare motor car and it looks and drives incredibly well, it's a special car and a true collectors piece. It's a car to own and drive with confidence, there are not many left like this.
