The 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 refined the original roadster with a smoother four-speed gearbox and optional overdrive. Its 2.6 litre inline-four delivered robust torque, revised rear suspension improved handling, and the long hood, low cockpit, and fold-flat windshield defined its purposeful look. Built for fast touring and club racing, the BN2 blended British style with mechanical simplicity, earning lasting admiration among collectors who prize its raw, engaging driving character. Today it remains a celebrated icon of postwar sports car design.
This immaculate Healey forms part of our enthusiast vendor's private collection. This superb example has benefitted from a comprehensive restoration and now presents wonderfully in the classic combination of black and red coachwork with a contrasting red leather interior. There is not a lot of paperwork present with this car, but the quality of the work speaks for itself. The panel gaps and door shuts are impressive; the paintwork gleams and the trim is like new. There is, however a V5c registration document, a heritage certificate and a dating letter from the Austin Healey Club. This delightful example deserves consideration by any serious collector.
