1971 Triumph Stag Mk. I
The 1971 Triumph Stag Mk. I is a stylish British grand tourer designed by Giovanni Michelotti. Featuring a distinctive T-bar roof and elegant proportions, it was powered by Triumph's 3.0 litre V8, offering smooth cruising rather than outright performance. Early models were known for cooling and reliability issues, yet the Stag's charm lies in its comfort, refined interior, and relaxed open-top touring appeal. Today, it's admired for character and classic 1970s style.
Originally registered in March 1971 this rare, Mk. I Stag presents well in gleaming white coachwork and a contrasting black trim. Offered to auction with a V5 registration document and various bills and receipts, this MoT test exempt example is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner. We are informed that this manual with overdrive example is both a head turner and fun to drive. The car has benefitted from a photographic bare metal restoration at some point and was recommissioned in 2020 by marque specialists Cherished Classic Cars of Melton Mowbray. The result is the delightful example available here. Consigned by Dominic Lake
