This is a car we know incredibly well having not only completed a full body off, nut and bolt restoration, but having stored the car and maintained it since the rebuild was completed in 2015. Back in 2014 we were contacted by a then new client based out in the US who was looking for a top class MGA Roadster finished in Black with Red leather upholstery with a vision to use it when over in the UK and take it on the occasional European tour. Rather than source an MGA, this particular client chose to have a car built for him with no expense spared and 11 years on since completion, the car is still glorious having covered less than 3000 miles.
On completion in 2015 the MGA was delivered to Central London for the owners visit to the UK. It was driven through Central London faultlessly, and drove further south to Kent, then up to Norfolk performing superbly. Having being used for the weekend, we then collected the car and placed it into long term storage to include regular road testing. Having been MOT tested with 3 miles in 2015, by 2016 it was 394 miles and a second trip took the mileage to 683 miles by 2017. By 2018 the car had covered 820 miles and in 2019 its biggest test was faced. We delivered the car down to Angouleme for the Rallye International Des Remparts in France. The MGA toured through France completing the rally, and then was faultlessly driven to the north French coast, crossing the channel before being driven back to us from the South Coast of England - mileage now 2000. Since then, the MGA has only been out of storage for road testing, a service in 2021 and an MOT and further service in 2023 and its long term owner then decided to part with the MGA as it simply was not being used. We marketed the car and very quickly sold the MG to a barrister looking for his first experience with a classic car. Having throughly enjoyed the MG, with two young children he has decided to go with a larger classic, in fact a 4x4 classic so a complete change for 2026 classic motoring.
This MK1 MGA 1600 Roadster is beautifully finished, 11 years on it still presents superbly with exceptional bodywork, panel gaps and a first class chassis. The Black paint finish is stunning, brightwork and chrome wires are excellent, and the high quality expensive Red leather trim is stunning. The MGA comes with full weather equipment, all mohair, stainless steel boot rack and still retains a high class engine bay finish. On the road it's exceptional with less than 3000 miles since a full engine rebuild, gearbox rebuild, axle overhaul and fully rebuilt braking, suspension and steering systems. Ancillaries were all renewed, the wiring loom replaced and essentially, the whole entire car was taken to a show standard condition. The car today still drives like a fresh rebuild that has now nicely run in.
Please not the private registration mark has now been retained, but can be purchased by negotiation.
