The 1935 Paris Show car. This is one of a batch of 25 Right Hand Drive cars & was sold new at the Paris show in 1935. History does not realte to whom but very likely it wuld have gone to England due to the RHD configuration.
The current owner purchased this car in 1998 at the Pebble beach auctions & it was noted in contemporary newspaper articles as being the most expensive car auctioned during Pebble Beach. Since then it has remained as one of the star exhibits in a prominent collection in Portugal. During this time it has been run 20kms every month & also used to attend a variety of car shows & participate in a number of rallies.
The car is finished in a fething mid blue over pale grey colour scheme with the paint being in good order having withstood the test of time very well. To the interior is lovely light grey leather piped in blue which again is in excellent condition. A lined blue mohair hood completes the look. This is a car that has ben amintained without regard to cost & used sparingly yet regularly.
Coachwork is by Sindelfingen & takes the form of a desirable cabriolet C with comfortable seating for 4 people. Lowering the rood is a simple affair involving releasing 3 over centre locking catches. The car is equipped aith dual side mount spare wheels & also a centre spot lamp along with twin trumpet horns.
This is a grand car to drive with massive presence in the road & is the be all & end all of pre war Teutonic motoring being simply spectacular in appearance. Viewings are by appointment in Lisbon.
