Chassis 2469965 was originally delivered on the 13th of March 1980 via Garage Vleugels of Maastricht, the official Alfa Romeo dealership at the time. This Dutch-delivered Spider Veloce represents the ultimate variant of the second series Spider, with original top-of-the-range 2000 engine and limited-slip differential.
Finished in the rare and highly attractive Bianco Pininfarina (008)**, **a warmer, more sophisticated shade than the more common Biancospino (013). This Spider is complemented by a black leatherette interior, grey carpets and a matching black soft top. The result is an elegant and timeless colour combination that perfectly suits the Spider's design!
Further enhancing the specification is a complete set of original 14-inch Campagnolo “Millerighe” alloy wheels, including the spare wheel. These were a desirable factory option when new. The car also benefits from one of the most sought-after Spider features: the distinctive covered headlights.
The Spider has remained in the Netherlands from 1980 until 2016, when it was sold to a German collector through noted dealer Wim Prins of Nunspeet. In 2016 the Spider was showing 84.500 km's on the odometer, today this is 86.200 km's. In the years following acquisition, the Spider was completely gone-through and recommissioned to an exceptionally high standard. Invoices totalling almost €20.000 are present in the history file (mainly mechanics related), as well as the infamous Alfaholics Fast Road handling kit. Since recommissioning the Spider has been driven just over 2.000 km's and still presents & drives superbly! Mechanically, it performs just as it presents.
Out on the road, the Spider performs every bit as well as it presents! The engine starts instantly, the gearbox shifts smoothly and it just delivers the engaging experience for which one would buy such an Alfa. Following our acquisition in May 2026, it was entrusted to our preferred Alfa Romeo specialist. A minor hesitation at lower engine speeds was traced to carburettor tuning, which has since been corrected. The engine now performs exactly as intended!
Body condition is critical on these cars, and this example is among the most original and well-preserved we have come accross. The underside remains remarkably authentic, thanks to a protective wax coating on suspension components amongst others that are typically prone to surface corrosion. The underside photographs speak for themselves.
The last service on the Spider dates from August 2024 at 85.360 km's (that's just 840 km's ago). Tires are Vredestein Classics, which present near new. Offered complete with two sets of keys, dedicated history file, owners' manual, spare wheel, tonneau cover and jack - this has to be one of the better Spider on offer anywhere today. Currently supplied with exported German registration, we can deliver the car on Dutch plates including a fresh MOT (APK) included in the asking price. We ship worldwide, so we can deliver the car to your home address if you so wish. Just reach out for a quote!
