Description

1965 Volvo P1800 Coupe going by the nickname of “FRED”. This is a very well known concours winning motor car amongst the enthusiastic Volvo community as she was owned from 1968 by Barbara Morris since she was only 3 years old in 1968. At the time, Barbara paid the princely sum of £1,145 to purchase this lovely example. Used by Barbara from 1968 through to 1982 as her daily transport, during this time the body was subjected to a rebuild in 1978/79 with the seats being reupholstered in 1981.  After that she was partially retired to summer use and participating in concours events. Within the thick history file that accompanies the car is an impressive list of concours achievements including a “Champion of Champions” award together with numerous “Overall First” places and many more “First in Class” awards. Owned by Barbara Morris until 2007 when it was purchased as a present for his wife by Lord Harris and owned by the Harris family ever since. Needless to say, the car remains in beautiful condition and prior to sale and after a length of time in storage, Volvo specialists Templar Classics have been through the car and their detailed invoice amounting to nearly £3,000 is also with the car. Now completely ready to be enjoyed by the next fortunate owner and with a little minor fettling may well repeat her previous concours achievements. A real delight at £37,500
