A Dune or Beach Buggy is a recreational motor vehicle with large wheels and wide tyres, designed for use on beaches or the desert. Popularity peaked in the late 1960's and early 1970's with the Volkswagen Beetle, nicknamed 'Bug' (hence 'Buggy') which were most commonly used for the platform. Ideal because the rear engine layout improves traction, the air-cooled engine avoids the complexities and failure points associated with water-cooled units. Dune buggies generally came with fibreglass bodies. The original dune buggy was the 1964 Meyers Manx built by classic constructor, Bruce Meyers, using a Volkswagen Beetle chassis.

Registered on 20th November 1967, this stunning Beach Buggy was built by the highly regarded Flatlands Engineering to a very high standard and boasts a 1641cc Remtec Europe rebuilt engine. Finished in blue metallic flake with white cross-stitched trim and removable hardtop, it sits on powder coated steel wheels in white, deep dish on the rear with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tyres all round. The Anthracite powder coated tinware and aluminium rocker covers enhance the aesthetics of this well-appointed buggy rounded off by a Tri Mil ceramic coated exhaust. The 1641cc engine boasts twin Weber carburettors, AccuSpark electronic ignition and high-performance HT leads and it stops as well as it goes with front and rear disc brakes. Inside the cabin are four seats with Securon seat belts (retractable up front and lap belts at the rear). This is a left hand drive example which makes it equally at home in Europe is also offered with the cherished plate 300 KCX included. Supplied with a V5 registration document and MoT test certificate until March 2026, this example is in stunning condition inside, outside and underneath!
