HISTORY/DOCUMENTATION
This unique Triumph TR6 boasts a remarkable history and rare specifications. Unlike many examples, this car was not delivered to the United States, but to its home country, Great Britain. On 18 March 1974, the car was delivered new to a British soldier. As early as 1977, the car was imported to the Netherlands, where it remained in the possession of the same owner until 2025. That is no less than 48 years! Another notable feature is that the first owner opted not for overdrive at the time, but for a limited-slip differential. This is a sought-after upgrade that improves handling. The 2.5-litre 6-cylinder engine also features a smooth fuel injection system. Furthermore, this is an unrestored car in very good condition. Significant investment has recently been made in the car, both technically and cosmetically.
The Triumph comes with a folder full of documentation, including manuals, maintenance invoices, registration papers and even original tools. Two sets of keys are also included. In 2026, the TR6 was valued at €34,000 and was verified as “a car in very good condition with normal signs of wear and tear”.

EXTERIOR
A real eye-catcher: the beautiful lines of the Triumph TR6 are perfectly showcased in the stunning “Saffron Yellow” colour. The stylish alloy wheels, sourced from a Lotus Europa, give the car extra character. These wheels have been fitted to the car since it was imported to the Netherlands in 1977. They have recently been fully refurbished and fitted with five new Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres, representing an investment of approximately €2,000. The complete wheel set is therefore virtually in new condition. In addition, new bumpers have been fitted and the headlights, lighting, indicators and parking lights have been renewed. The rare white front indicators give this TR6 an extra distinctive detail. The door seals have also been replaced, and in 2025 a new soft top was fitted, made from high-quality mohair fabric. A practical and stylish luggage rack has also been fitted at the rear. The paintwork shows only normal signs of wear and is free from any significant damage or dents. Both the chrome trim and the lighting are in a neat and well-maintained condition.

INTERIOR
The interior of the Triumph TR6 is in a well-maintained and largely refurbished condition. The beautiful brown leather seats, which are in very good condition, immediately catch the eye. The dashboard is stylishly finished in cherry wood and is also in excellent condition, with no significant damage. The door panels are also upholstered in brown leather, giving the interior a warm and luxurious feel. The original Smiths instruments are in full working order; the odometer and ammeter have been professionally reconditioned, and the odometer has also been calibrated. The car is equipped with the original optional heating system and also features a radio, as well as various practical upgrades, including seatbelts, a safety switch for the fuel pump, new carpets, a new leather gear knob, refurbished window winders and a USB port. A wooden sports steering wheel has been fitted; the original steering wheel is included with the car. The boot also presents a neat appearance. There is space for the spare wheel beneath the double floor, and the boot lining has been renewed. In addition, the original tools, including the original jack, are still present.

TECHNICAL
This Triumph TR6 has also been thoroughly maintained from a technical perspective and has undergone extensive work in recent years. In 2025, major maintenance work costing almost €4,000 was carried out. This included the replacement of the coolant hoses, front brake pads, master and slave clutch cylinders, clutch, heater valve and gearbox mount. In addition, in April 2026, a further €1,000 was invested in, amongst other things, a new fuel hose and filter, a new filter housing and various hose connections. The water pump, thermostat and air filter have also been recently replaced. Furthermore, the dual horn and windscreen washer have been replaced. The fuel tank has been professionally refurbished, primed and finished with a durable 2K coating. The chassis appears solid and damage-free and, as far as can be seen, shows no signs of welding. Photos of the underside are included in the photo gallery. In addition, the car is equipped with an oil cooler and adjustable shock absorbers. PI stands for Petrol Injection and means that the engine does not use carburettors, but a mechanical injection system (Lucas injection) that delivers fuel under pressure directly to the cylinders. The more powerful, more direct and sportier injection version of the Triumph TR6 is loved for its character and performance.
In terms of handling, this TR6 is impressive: starting, gear changes and braking are smooth and just as they should be. The handling is particularly pleasant thanks to the limited-slip differential, which was reconditioned in 2024. This limited-slip differential ensures better traction, less wheel spin and greater stability in corners, especially on wet roads or during sporty driving. Power is thus distributed more effectively across both rear wheels, resulting in a predictable and confident driving experience. As such, the limited-slip differential is a popular upgrade among TR6 enthusiasts, particularly when combined with modified suspension or increased engine power.

GENERAL
The Triumph TR6 is a sports car produced by the British car manufacturer Triumph from 1968 to 1976. It was the successor to the Triumph TR5 and was produced as a convertible with a folding roof. The TR6 was a popular car due to its sporty appearance, good performance and relatively affordable price. The car was powered by a 2.5-litre six-cylinder engine. The TR6 was also one of the first cars to feature disc brakes on all four wheels as standard. In total, more than 94,000 TR6s were produced, making it one of the best-selling Triumph models ever. Today, the TR6 remains a popular car among collectors and classic car enthusiasts.
