When the TR5 appears on the market in 1967, it is because Triumph, under pressure from the market, has to admit that the four-cylinder from the TR4 is no longer up to the competition's six-cylinders. MG, Porsche, the Datsun 240Z, they are cars with which the brand has to compete, especially in the American market. And so there must be a six-cylinder in the front of the Triumph. The TR5 is born. Not much changes in appearance, the grille is a bit different, a double exhaust makes an appearance and the letters 'PI' can be found on the back, which stands for Petrol Injection.

It is precisely that six-cylinder with injection that is then the problem if the increasingly strict American emission requirements mean that the power source no longer meets the requirements. The TR250 is being developed especially for this, a variant with sealed Stromberg carburettors. The TR5 and TR250 are the least built variants of the TR series making them the most sought-after versions.

This TR250 dates from 1968 and is equipped with an optional Surrey Top, where the roof can be removed and the rear window remains. The car has been fully restored, with the English of course talking about a 'nut and bolt ground up restoration', something that is almost impossible to translate into something that sounds just as beautiful. A complete restoration in which nothing has been left to chance. In addition, the car is also matching numbers, with the information coming from the original Heritage Trust certificate.

After the restoration, the car was provided with a beautiful coat of paint in the colour Wedgwood Blue, or Gulf Blue as it is also called. Together with the dark blue, almost black leather interior, it is a combination that looks really fantastic. The interior is of course in Concours condition, both in terms of condition and quality. The most beautiful materials were chosen during the restoration and the future buyer will reap the benefits. The seats are extra comfortable and the rare seats in the back are present. The original radio of the TR250 has been completely modified by a specialist, so that the appearance is original but the functionality of this time, with even hands-free possibilities.

The TR250's engineering is insane with an overdrive for added comfort and an electronic 123 ignition system for added convenience. It makes this TR250 a truly fantastic driving specimen, where there is no need to worry about the quality or reliability of this car.
The car comes with the original Heritage Certificate, as well as an overview of the costs and a full list of what has been renewed during the restoration. There is also a lot of correspondence. If you are in the market for a top-quality TR, you really cannot ignore this top-restored car.
