Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer this very special SWB Porsche 912, which has had a no-cost-spared restoration and numerous performance upgrades fitted to provide the same 134 bhp (at the rear wheels), as a 911 T model but weighs in at 60kg less than the 911.
This unique Porsche 912 provides an opportunity to own a unique perfomance version of the 912, fully restored, and with countless performance upgrades fitted by the finest marque experts. The Porsche is offered at a huge saving compared against the cost of trying to find a dry state, solid example and replicating the wonderful build specification. It has benefitted from a concours-quality restoration to the metal while improving the drivability in preparation for the unique performance engine. Over £75,000 has been spent to make this unique Porsche a stand out amongst its peers.
The 912 offers a more balanced weight distribution due to its weight saving, and many Porsche owners claim that in many situations where handling becomes more crucial, a 912 can outdrive a 911. The introduction of the 911 and 912 eliminated the Beetle-derived transaxle swing-arm suspension gene that endured through the previous-era 356, replacing it with a trailing-arm system that handles the famously quirky, rear-biased weight distribution with unique, engaging competency. When the 912 launched in 1965, it initially outsold the 911 at a ratio of two-to-one. What it shares with the 911, is its crisp styling and wonderfully communicative steering, and while prices have risen in line with the wider classic market over the years they’re still, cheaper to buy than 911s from the same era.
The last owner liked the Porsche so much that he brought it over to the UK in 2023, and it was then tuned by Atspeed Racing, Rayleigh and serviced by Hexagon Classics to make sure that it’s all ready for the next owner to enjoy.
