Presented here is an exceptional 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupé 3.2 (G-Model), chassis no. WPO ZZZ91ZKS 100450, retaining its matching-numbers engine (64K01022) and the highly desirable G50 five-speed gearbox. This 3,125 cc example, producing 218 PS (160 kW), was completed on 2 September 1988 for the 1989 model year.
Finished in the sporting and timeless combination of Indian Red (Indischrot, code G1), the car is further enhanced by its factory-optioned electric sports seats (codes 383/387), now re-trimmed in high-quality check-patterned cloth, adding a distinctive and period-correct character to the interior.
First registered in November 1988, the car was originally delivered to Japan. Notably, the accompanying service book is among the most comprehensive examples we have encountered at Cathedral Classics from the Japanese market. Meticulously maintained throughout its life, it contains no fewer than 16 stamped service entries, underscoring a history of diligent and consistent care.
Documented Japanese and German Ownership History & Servicing
The car is imported back to Germany by Glinicke Classic Cars GmbH in Kassel Germany where their internal invoicing between 2018 and 2020 is comprehensive giving the car a wonderful new start for its (thus far) one German owner who would continue his custodianship and servicing with Porsche Zentrum Bielefeld, Germany.
Condition, Originality & Present Offering
This superb example presents beautifully in Indian Red (Indischrot), with only a few areas having received fresh paint in recent years following its return to Germany. The true highlight, however, is the reupholstered sports seats, finished in a striking check-patterned cloth that contrasts elegantly with the car’s bold exterior. It’s often said that some cars suit red better than others—this is undoubtedly one that was always meant to wear it. The Fuchs alloy wheels are in excellent condition, complemented by relatively new tyres with strong tread remaining. An appropriate Insurance Valuation (Gutachten Note 2) Report offering a Condition 2 is also available. A modern Blaupunkt radio has been discreetly integrated, offering Bluetooth connectivity while preserving the vehicle’s original aesthetic.

The car presents as a wonderfully honest, mechanically sorted and aesthetically preserved Carrera 3.2 G-Model—one of the most desirable iterations of the air-cooled 911 lineage. With its matching-numbers drivetrain, continuous documentation, and careful stewardship across four decades, it stands as a standout opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
