Description

The second generation of Porsches legendary 911, also known as the G-Series, was successfully produced from 1973 (MY1974) and all along to 1989, where the successor 964 was introduced. This makes it the longest lasting version in production, during which it underwent numerous improvements through the years, including much better rust protection and ever more powerful engines. Porsche had initiated the marketing of limited edition models and in order to celebrate the production of Porsche No 250.000 in the summer of 1987, a strictly limited number of “911 Carrera 250,000” were made. Based on the 3.2 Carrera with the much improved Getrag gearbox, a total of just 875 examples were offered, all painted in the special color “Diamond Blue Metallic” with matching Fuchs wheels. The interior received a luxury treatment as well, such as thick special color leather and dedicated inscription in the head rests as well as premium quality mats. All this resulting in a highly desirable version of an already legendary car.

This particular matching numbers car was delivered 31 July 1987 from MAHAG in Munich, Germany. After some years in Germany the car went to South Africa and finally in 2022 it came to Denmark, imported by a true enthusiast. Service booklet is filled with 9 official stamps, and before acquiring the car a comprehensive official review was made by Porsche Center Cape Town. The car is very original, well documented and with a mileage of just 183,000 km quite collectable. It has never been restored, but rather carefully maintained on a regular basis and so has just the right patina. Not only is it a fun car to drive, it also represents a good investment opportunity being a limited edition.
