Call it a restomod, backdate, or hot rod – this car embodies the best of all worlds. It combines the timeless elegance of a classic 911 with carefully chosen upgrades for performance, drivability, and comfort. The result is a unique Targa that’s as beautiful to look at as it is rewarding to drive.

This 911 Targa was originally built in 2019 by a Belgium-based Porsche specialist, starting from a solid 2.7 Targa – a superb base for a backdate project. All panels are steel, finished with fibre front and rear bumpers. Signature details include the brushed Targa hoop, polished brightwork, alloy engine grille, genuine light units, and a pair of period Cibie headlights. The body was refinished in a bespoke coffee crème beige, giving the car a warm and distinctive presence.

We sold the car to its current caretaker and during his ownership, significant investment was made to bring the interior & driving experience to an extraordinary level of detail:

  • New 'salt&pepper' 911S carpets
  • Custom bucket seats in black & beige Pepita
  • A retrimmed steering wheel in leather with body color matching stitching
  • Black roll cage trimmed in leather with body color matching stitching
  • Restored gauges in early 911 / 356 style with green faces, chrome bezels, and basketweave detailing
  • Rebuilt dash with alloy/basketweave inserts and chrome trim, paired with a period-correct Blaupunkt (Bluetooth & DAB) finished with a pair of chronometers
  • Early-911-style door cards with classic pockets
  • WEVO shifter with balsa wood knob for precise action
  • Cooling fan painted to match body color
  • Even the keychain was custom-made to match the car’s finish

The result is a cabin that feels bespoke, authentic, and inviting – far beyond what a standard restoration offers.

Under the rear decklid sits a rebuilt 3.2 Carrera engine producing 231 bhp, paired with a short-ratio 915 gearbox and limited-slip differential. Together, they deliver lively acceleration and a truly engaging drive. The uprated 964 brakes provide stopping power to match, while the 100L fuel tank ensures long, uninterrupted journeys.

Next to regular maintenance, additional work was carried out to further maximise performance and reliability. This included new rear suspension arms, turbo steering rods, and the renewal of bushings.

On the road, the car feels exactly as you’d hope: strong performance, responsive handling, and confidence-inspiring brakes.

The car was sold to its current owner in 2022, who covered just under 10,000 km since – mainly on scenic trips and holidays. Proving its long distance reliability; it remains in superb condition, beautifully blending classic Targa style with modern usability.

This is not just another backdate. It’s a carefully crafted, high-quality, and unique build, with far more invested than the asking price reflects. For someone seeking a bespoke 911 that stands out from the crowd, this Targa is the one.

The car currently has Belgian registration and is sold on behalf of our client.
