1956 | Porsche 356 A 1600

A fully restored 1956 Porsche 356 A T1 Cabriolet! This is an original 356 A T1 with a Reutter body – only 69 units were ever produced!

Exterior:
The exterior of this 356 is finished in its original color Silber Metallic 608. It features original steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, chrome bumpers, trim, and door handles. The car is also equipped with a black soft top. This Porsche underwent a complete body-off restoration and was returned to its original factory specifications.

Interior:
The interior is in beautiful condition, finished in its original Grün leather with green carpet. All original gauges are present and in good condition. The dashboard retains all original details and features a beautiful original steering wheel.

Mechanics:
Technically, the Porsche is in excellent condition. It retains its original 1600cc / 60hp 4-cylinder engine, which has been fully rebuilt and is matching numbers. The 4-speed manual gearbox is also matching numbers. The entire drivetrain and suspension have been fully overhauled.

History:
This rare Porsche 356 A T1 Cabriolet was delivered new in France on September 11, 1956 by Son Auto, the official Porsche importer at the time. From 1994 to 1998, the car had a single owner, and was then owned for 18 years by the next custodian. In 2016, the car underwent a complete restoration to factory specifications.
Only 69 units of the 356 A T1 were produced between late 1955 and early 1956 before the updated model was introduced mid-1956. This is an exceptionally rare Porsche – and eligible for the Mille Miglia!
