1955 | Mercedes-Benz 300 SL "Gullwing"

For sale is a beautifully restored Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing from 1955. This vehicle, in the rare color scheme light blue metallic (color number 353), is one of only 64 examples delivered worldwide in this color. With “matching numbers”, it embodies authenticity and also offers a high collector's value.

The car was completed on July 26, 1955 and delivered to the Mercedes-Benz branch office in New York City. It was then registered for the first time in the USA on October 28, 1955. In 1991, I purchased the vehicle at a classic car auction in Auburn with around 57,000 miles on the clock. Accordingly, the car has only two registered previous owners.

Since its registration on 19.04.2010, which was specifically for special events such as the Stadtpark-Rennen in Hamburg, the vehicle has mainly been used for exhibitions and special trips. The current mileage is approx. 59,898 miles (read, approx. 96,000 kilometers).

The car is in a very well-kept condition and is accompanied by an extensive documentation. A highlight for collectors is the two-piece luggage set in the same color as the red leather interior, which gives the vehicle a special exclusivity.
