Description

The Mercedes 230 SL was introduced at the 1963 Geneva Motorshow, and was the successor of the 190 SL. From the beginning, the W113 had a six-in-line engine, which promised good performance. Both automatic and manual gearboxes were available, and most of the cars were sold in the USA. The timeless design of Paul Bracq still looks fantastic, and is a perfect blend of function and style.

This example was delivered new in California, and came in 2015 to Europe as a very sound and rustfree restoration project. It was purchased by a Mercedes dealership and restored to original specification and colours. As the body of the car was in exceptional condition, all factory spot welding is still visible and the shut lines are absolutely spot-on. The car was delivered in the beautiful Horizon Blue (DB304) which it still wears today. The interior is completely retrimmed in black leather, and the automatic gearbox makes this Pagoda a very comfortable cruiser. The Mercedes has a Belgian registration and is ready for use.
