Description

1990 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG RHD UK delivery.
Built from 1986 to 1991, the second series of S Class saloon and coupe 560 models were available with increased power from a new 5.5 litre V8 engine and a full range of groundbreaking equipment and ‘firsts’ in the automotive world.
SEC in the German: 'Sonderklass Einspritzmotor Coupe' or ‘Special Class injection motor coupe’ in translation was a true range topping / flagship model for Mercedes-Benz during the late 80s into the early 90s. Known for its ability to cruise the continent at high speed, the SEC was the chosen way to travel by F1 driver Nigel Mansell who ordered his in LHD to commute to European Grands Prix and by then F1 Grand Prix commentator and World Champion James Hunt.
Today, the 560 SEC would be extremely well suited to a movement known as ‘Old School Cool’. These large Mercedes-Benz Coupes have gained respectability among collectors who appreciate cars from an era of success and high excess. The 560 SEC was the must have car for the wealthy professional who appreciated quality and engineering. All of this did come at a cost though and the SEC was around the same price new as a Ferrari Testarossa circa 1990.
Our car sports Glacier White bodywork with AMG special order Magnolia suede interior piped in Royal Blue, white instrument dials and Oz split rim alloys and AMG suspension package.
All the normal SEC refinements such as fully electric adjustable front heated seats, the wonderful electric seat belt extenders and electric front and rear windows that expose the pillarless coupe body styling are fully operational.
Our car has completed just 85800, backed up by a history file containing MOT test certificates from 1995 onwards.
The beautiful Glacier White paintwork in wonderful condition complimented with the AMG additions and full suede interior all in remarkable condition with minimal signs of wear, this 560 SEC is ready use and enjoy.
