1956 | Mercedes-Benz 220 S

From July 1951, the Mercedes-Benz 220 presented the conservative body with a new six-cylinder engine. However, customers soon wanted a more modern shape and so the new 220 a was presented in March 1954. The dignified, prestigious body with the still excellent engine was a complete success. The output of the 220 a was 85 hp, then came the 220 S, also with 85 hp, later with 100 hp or 106 hp and at the end of the series the 220 SE with 115 hp.

Our Mercedes-Benz 220 S limousine from 1956 was first registered in 1957. The elegant colour combination with the corresponding leather interior is complemented by the Webasto foldable sliding roof, supplied ex factory. Following the restoration, which was documented with pictures and invoices, the classic car has travelled approx. 18,900 km. A Mercedes-Benz from the Ponton series with a six-cylinder engine is a marvellous touring car that is also suitable for long distances.
