Description
The Mercedes-Benz Pontoon Limousines had just been on the market when the development of its successor, aka “Tailfin”, W 111/W112 began in 1954. Stylistically, this was a quantum leap and meant the beginning of the modern era. This series was the first car worldwide with a safety body. The model 300 from the series W 186 and W 189, aka “Adenauer”, was already dated and the “Big Mercedes” (model 600) was still a thing of the future, so the model 300 SE (long wheelbase on demand) had to take over the role of the representative car. Its technical features were phenomenal for their time: aluminum engine, fuel injection, automatic transmission, air suspension, power steering and four disk brakes. All this came at a price: DM 23,100 but even so, 5,202 cars of this model were built.
Our Mercedes-Benz 300 SE Limousine is of very high quality. Its flawless dark blue paint and its leather interior are a perfect match. This oldtimer hails from Austria and has been part of a German collection since 2015. Enjoy this top mode from the 1960s!
