Description

  • Comes with some maintenance invoices and original Mercedes-Benz booklets
    - Indestructible Mercedes-Benz
    - Sometimes called by enthusiasts "the last Mercedes" because of its unmatched durability
    - The best of many worlds: luxurious convertible and also a workhorse; equipped with a tow hitch

The Mercedes-Benz W124 series was built in numerous derivatives and variants from 1984 to 1997 and easily ranks among the ranks of immortal classics. Mercedes-Benz combined forward-thinking innovation with German build quality in shaping the W124, creating an iconic whole that even many modern cars cannot match. The W124 was 'built to last,' extremely reliable, and a true workhorse. For this reason, it remains a current model highly praised by enthusiasts even today.

As early as the 1970s, Mercedes-Benz aimed to provide a successor to the classic W123. In the latter half of that decade, they began shaping that successor. Several years later, a prototype was presented, and in 1984, the end result arrived: a mid-sized sedan based on the W201, eventually released in wagon, coupe, and convertible versions due to its great success.

With the W124, Mercedes-Benz engineers showcased their worth. The W124 was a fantastic feat of engineering. It was aerodynamically designed, ranking among the most aerodynamic cars on the European market, and noble in that the W124 was truly available to everyone. W124s came in all shapes, sizes, and colors. There were numerous engine variants, ranging from a two-liter four-cylinder engine to a six-liter V8 with a whopping 376 horsepower. Both diesel and gasoline options were available, and there were also many body styles that perfectly met every buyer's demand. The vehicle's three-digit code reflected its engine displacement.

In 1993, a drastic change was made, with aesthetic and mechanical alterations marking the official beginning of the nearly globally sold and famous Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

In 1996, the W124 was succeeded by the W210. The W124 convertible continued production until 1997.

    Mercedes-Benz E 200

After 1993, all variants of the W124 were known as the E-Class, the first-generation E-Class to be precise. One of these was the E 200, again available in all available body styles of the W124. Under the hood lies a two-liter inline four-cylinder engine, available in diesel or gasoline, both with adequate power.

The E 200 remains ubiquitous on the streets today, which is no surprise: they are indestructible. There are many enthusiasts for them, with entire enthusiast collectives dedicated to the W124.
