Description
**
Daimler-Benz started its passenger car production in June 1947 with the 170 V and the four-cylinder engine. The development goal was to quickly return to the top of the international automobile manufacturers. The newly developed six-cylinder engines for the 220 and 300 models were a great success. The body of the new Mercedes 220 was conservative, as was favoured by the buyers of the time, although the headlights integrated into the wings already hinted at the pontoon shape. There were also marvellous cabriolets again: the Cabriolet A as a two-seater and the opulent Cabriolet B as a fully-fledged four-seater. While the saloon cost a hefty DM 11,525, you had to pay DM 15,160 for the predominantly hand-built Cabriolet B. As a result, only a few wealthy enthusiasts could afford such exquisite vehicles.
Our Mercedes-Benz 220 Cabriolet B has been extensively restored. Even the luggage set is present. The two-tone paintwork perfectly expresses the contemporary elegance. The classic car is registered with an H licence plate. Enjoy the marvellous rides in this classic Mercedes.
