Offered here is a first series Mazda MX-5 (NA, known as Miata in North America) from the German British Racing Green edition. This was the first special edition Mazda ever built for the MX-5, limited to 360 cars for the German market and sold out shortly after its release. List price in 1991: from DM 41,250, roughly
EUR 21,100 at the official conversion rate.
Please note that the British Racing Green edition was released in different volumes per country. The German first run of 360 cars is the one offered here.
Equipment
Condition
The paint is original and well preserved for its age. The car is free from rust. It has never been driven in winter and has never seen road salt. The soft top is watertight and fully functional, with visible signs of use.
Maintenance
No deferred maintenance. Timing belt and seals were replaced at 97,600 km, and the car has covered around 2,100 km since.
Documentation
The 2021 inspection report under section 23 StVZO is available and certifies the original condition worth preserving.
The NA generation is now regarded as a collector car, and good examples are becoming harder to find. This edition differs from the standard model in paint and interior trim, technically it matches the standard specification. I took the car over in October 1995 and have owned it for more than 30 years.
There is no service booklet, but I can give first hand information on almost the entire history of the car.
