Description

Maserati Merak with only 46,500 km and fully restored.

This Maserati is an early version of the first year of manufacture and has the dashboard of the Citroen SM as well as the engine.

The collaboration between Maserati and Citroen has resulted in a beautiful concept.

Production years: 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982

With a total production of 1830 cars in 8 years.

Developed under Citroen's ownership during the early '70s, the Merak was Maserati's second mid-engine sportscar, and it stood on the market for over a decade.

Introduced in 1972 at the Paris Auto Show, this car was aimed at wealthier customers.

But the reason that few were produced is because this was the period when the oil crisis started.

Giorgetto Giugiaro was hired to pen the car's lines based on the Bora. Using the same platform as the Bora, to create the Merak.

The Merak came on the market with a restyled front.

The rear windscreen was vertical and short. But the designer imagined two opened flying buttresses that visually extended the car's roof. At the back, the engine cover featured two rows of vents that helped to cool the engine.

On this car there is a trunk lid as it will later be used on the SS models with an extra grille.

The Merak's interior was offered with various trim levels. The higher grades were leather-wrapped like this one. All were fitted with bolstered seats that provided good lateral support. In addition, a rear seat was placed behind the driver for tax reasons. 2+2

The three liter V6 engine behind the seats provided a good performance 190bhp.

The quality of this car and the originality of the interior are exceptional.

A lot of investment was made to make this car as new and from our own experience we can say that this car drives fantastic.
