Description

The Maserati 3500 GT stands as a classic example of automotive elegance and performance from the golden era of Italian sports cars. Unveiled in the late 1950s, the 3500 GT was Maserati's flagship grand tourer, designed to blend luxury with potent performance. One notable variant of this iconic model was the carburetted version, which added a touch of raw driving experience to the already impressive package.

Under the hood of the 1960 Maserati 3500 GT carburetted model, you would find a robust engine that reflected Maserati's commitment to delivering exhilarating driving dynamics. The heart of the car was a 3.5-liter inline-six engine, equipped with a set of carburettors that fueled the passion for speed. These carburettors, known for their simplicity and mechanical precision, allowed the engine to breathe freely, optimizing the air-fuel mixture for optimal combustion and performance.

The engine generated an impressive amount of power for its time, delivering a thrilling driving experience on both city streets and open roads. The distinctive exhaust notes emanating from the Maserati's tailpipes added a musical soundtrack to the driving experience, further enhancing the connection between the driver and the machine.

This Car has original matching numbers engine, gearbox and original colour interior and exterior. The car was bought over from the US by Guy Berryman - the bassist from Coldplay about 15 years ago. He had the bodywork carried out in the UK by Jaguar Panels but didn’t progress with it and sold the Car to the current owner, who undertook a 3 year long full 'back to bare metal' restoration - to the very highest standards.

So much so that the Car has received the sought after 'Maserati Classiche' Documentation, confirming the original correct specification has been strictly adhered to and the Car comes with full photographic restoration photos.

In terms of design, the 1960 Maserati 3500 GT featured timeless styling cues that characterized Italian sports cars of the era. The bodywork was crafted with attention to aerodynamics, and its sleek lines showcased a perfect balance of sophistication and aggression. The carburetted version may have lacked some of the refinements of modern fuel injection systems, but it compensated with a more direct and engaging driving feel.

Inside the cabin, the 3500 GT expressed luxury and comfort. High-quality materials, fine leather, and polished wood adorned the interior, creating a welcoming environment for the driver and passengers. Maserati paid meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that the interior reflected the brand's commitment to craftsmanship and refinement.

The 1960 Maserati 3500 GT model remains a sought-after collector's item, appreciated not only for its historical significance but also for its charismatic driving experience.
