Highlights
The Lotus Omega is among the most desirable high-performance sedans of the 1990s and is now a sought-after collector’s car. This example was first delivered in Germany, still wears its original paint, is accident-free, and was stored dry and preserved for decades. In 2024, it received an extensive technical overhaul including new turbochargers worth over €10,000, with invoices available. A complete service history, Classic Data grade 2+ rating, historic registration and TÜV valid until 12/2025 underline the exceptional quality and originality of this vehicle.
🏛️ General / Model History
Known as the Lotus Carlton in the UK, the Lotus Omega is considered one of the last true “wolves in sheep’s clothing.” At the end of the 1980s, Opel sought a way to position the Omega as a serious performance sedan and found an ideal partner in British sports-car specialist Lotus. The result was a technological tour de force: the 3.0-liter straight-six was transformed through twin turbochargers and extensive modifications into an engine producing 377 hp and a top speed of about 280 km/h – making it one of the fastest sedans of its era. Subtle in appearance yet uncompromising in engineering, the Lotus Omega quickly achieved legendary status. Estimates suggest around 950 units were produced between 1990 and 1992, with about 630 left-hand-drive cars and only a fraction originally delivered to Germany.

Equipment includes electric windows, electric sunroof, central locking, air-conditioning, on-board computer, radio, front airbags, leather steering wheel and fog lights. The cabin is well-preserved, original and in very good condition for its age.
Technical Condition From 1997 to 2024, the vehicle was stored dry and preserved. In 2024 it underwent a complete recommissioning, including turbocharger replacement and technical overhaul costing more than €10,000. Invoices and the old refurbished turbos are included. An additional aluminium auxiliary tank – a period upgrade – is installed. The car has a fully stamped service book and complete maintenance documentation.
