Jaguár XJ 6 Coupe bol vyrábaný v rokoch 1973 – 1978. Karoséria XJ prešla na jeseň 1973 faceliftom pre modelový rok 1974, a bola označená ako „Series II“. Vlajková loď z Anglicka je luxus na ceste, ktorý aj dnes ponúka nadštandardnú výbavu. Celkovo bolo vyrobených 10 426 ks zo série II, z toho bolo 6 487 ks bolo vybavených radovým šesť valcom 4.2L. V roku 1975 sa vyrobilo iba 2877 ks. Motor R6 s objemom 4.235 cm3 (257.5 kubických palcov) s výkonom 162 HP (120 kW).
