This 1972 Fiat 500L has been in my family since day one. My grandfather bought it brand new back in May 1972 from a dealership right here in Rome. My aunt drove it for years during the '80s and '90s before gifting it to me in 1998. After sitting in storage for a while, I decided to give it the love it deserved. I started a full restoration in 2015 and finished it up in 2025.
The car was stripped down and repainted in its classic ivory finish. As part of the bodywork, I replaced the nose, fenders, and rocker panels to get everything looking crisp. It’s got the iconic folding canvas sunroof, driver-side mirror, vented engine cover, and those classic tubular nudge bars.
Inside, the front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in tan vinyl with matching door panels, black dash, and brown carpets. It still has the classic under-dash storage cubby, door pockets, quarter-vent windows, and the original split-spoke steering wheel framing the trapezoidal Veglia Borletti instrument cluster.
Key Features & Recent Work:
The car is located in Rome and will be sold on its original Italian registration documents. I have plenty of photos documenting the entire restoration process from start to finish available to share.
