The floor is shaking at the Paris Autosalon in 1964: two new models make their appearance. On the one hand, the closed GTB, a fantastically designed coupe. On the other hand, the GTS, its open brother. Identical in terms of chassis, with a beautifully welded tubular frame. Fully independent suspension with Dunlop disc brakes all around and Koni shock absorbers.

Both models are also characterized by a transaxle arrangement, where the five-speed gearbox is placed between the rear wheels and therefore independent rear suspension is also present. The 275 GTS and GTB are the first Ferraris to be built using this method.
The design of the GTB is completely new, unlike that of the GTS, which has its origins in the design of the 330 GT.

The 275 GTS is a car that is of course based on a racing car. Yet the GTS is clearly a luxury two-seater car with beautiful lines and more than enough luxury. The interior is characterized by generous seats and a dashboard with wood veneer, something that makes the 275 GTS the first Ferrari. The whole has a luxurious appearance, just like the elegantly designed body, which radiates more 'touring' than 'racing'. Yet the GTS more than convincingly has two faces, because under the elongated hood is the 3.3 liter 'Colombo' V12, which delivers 260 hp in the Spider.

The 275 GTS you see here is a fairly late copy and has a fantastic, conclusive history and unprecedented few original kilometers of experience. The 275 is 'matching-numbers' and comes with the original build-sheets and a huge load of original documentation. Naturally, the two-seater Ferrari Classiche is certified. Unique to this GTS is that it is delivered (and equipped) with an original hardtop.

We already mentioned it: we are dealing here with production number 193 of (only) 200. The chassis went to Pininfarina in 1965 for the Spider body and was ready a few months later to be delivered to the first owner, who owned it for no less than twenty years and really cherished the car extremely. This is evident not only from all invoices, but also from the handwritten documentation to a subsequent owner. The thickness of the pile is unprecedented.
It is therefore not surprising that the owner kept the original order from the dealer, including the envelope. The car was delivered by Auto-Becker to its first owner, a Ferrari enthusiast from San Diego. He cherishes the car for twenty years, before he puts a letter with it in which he wishes the next owner the best of luck with his new car and that he has tried to keep the car as original as possible, except for the brakes, which he let improve.
The first owner didn't drive his car much, in 1992, when the car was owned by the second owner for a few years, the car had only driven 30,670 miles. We know this because the owner serviced his car at a very well-known address, of which a lot of documentation is available. A few years later, the then owner decided to treat the 275 GTS to a restoration by a well-known and appreciated specialist. After a very thorough approach, the car was given a new coat of paint in the original color, Azzurro Metallizzato. Of course, the interior was not left behind and its restoration was completed with new leather in the original color.

After the relevant restoration, the car only drove a few thousand miles. As a result, the GTS is in fantastic condition, both in terms of exterior and interior and technology.

A 275 GTS is rarely offered anyway, but we rarely see a copy in this condition, with a hardtop and in this configuration. We have rarely seen a car with such an amount of documentation. Comes with lots of original documentation, the original instruction books, a great stack of invoices, the original tool kit and a hardtop. Simply unique.
