1961 | Facel Vega HK 500

This unique and historically important Facel Vega HK-500 (HK1 CG4) is the very last HK-500 ever produced, completed in May 1961. It left the factory in “Tudor Grey” metallic with a beige leather interior and matching carpet, colours it still proudly wears today. With “matching numbers & colours”, it retains its original Chrysler 383 V8 engine, Pont-à-Mousson 4-speed gearbox, and drivetrain.

The car was purchased by Amicale Facel Holland and underwent a full restoration to factory specifications, meticulously carried out and finished by AFH founder and Facel Vega expert Hans Ruhé. Body and chassis were stripped, restored, and rebuilt to perfection, while mechanical components such as the engine, carburettors, gearbox, final drive, and brakes were completely overhauled. The stainless-steel exhaust, renewed wiring loom, modern upgrades like discreet electronic ignition, electric power steering, and safety seat belts were added, all without compromising originality. The interior retains its beautifully reconditioned original leather, complemented by new carpet, restored woodwork, and fully functioning original equipment.

No expense was spared in bringing this remarkable HK-500 back to its original glory. Its exceptional provenance as the final HK-500 ever built makes it a truly unique piece of automotive history, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the serious collector or Facel Vega enthusiast.
