Das Fahrzeug ist ein französischer Oldtimer, Baujahr 1967, eine DS 21 und damit ein echter Klassiker. Mitte der 50er Jahre begann Citroen mit der Baureihe der DS. Im Oktober 1955 wurde auf dem Pariser Autosalon die erste DS 19 dem Publikum vorgestellt. Dieser neue Fahrzeugtyp erregte seinerzeit maximale Aufmerksamkeit bei Publikum aber auch Fachbesuchern. Die DS galt damit als interessanteste Neukonstruktion der letzten 10 Jahre.
Bei dem Angebot handelt es sich um eine DS 21 Halbautomatik, Baujahr 1967. Das Fahrzeug wurde von Frankreich direkt in die USA ausgeliefert und dort gefahren. Es handelt sich somit um einen USA-Import aus Europa. Im Jahr 2013 erfolgte der Re-Import aus dem Süden der USA nach Europa, und zwar nach Deutschland. In Hamburg wurde der Wagen restauriert und auf europäische Standards umgerüstet (Tachometer). Danach bot ihn von Sportwagen Oettinger, Hamburg, im Jahr 2014 zum Kauf an. Bei dem aktuellen Verkäufer handelt es sich um den Erstbesitzer nach dem Re-Import und Überführung nach Deutschland.

Das Fahrzeug wurde in den zurückliegenden 12 Jahren regelmäßig gefahren und instandgesetzt. Der TÜV erfolgte stets ohne Beanstandung, aktuell ist er gültig bis 9/2027. Die letzte technische Überprüfung empfahl eine Spülung des Hydrauliksystems mit Austausch der Druck- und Federspeicher. Das Intervall für eine solche Maßnahme beträgt nach Empfehlung von Spezialisten jeweils fünf Jahre. Der Wagen ist somit technisch einwandfrei. Ein optischer Mangel besteht in dem Lederbezug der Rückbank, der rissig geworden ist. Es handelt sich um das Originalmaterial. Die Rückenlehne im Fond wurde vor 11 Jahre neu bezogen. Die beiden Sitze im vorderen Bereich sowie die Seitenverkleidungen vorn wurden vor 3 Jahren instandgesetzt.
