The name Coupe DeVille refers to a body style that was widespread in the automotive sector in the first half of the 20th century, particularly in the luxury segment. An open compartment for the chauffeur and a separate passenger compartment with a fixed metal roof, which already existed in the 19th century as superstructures for horse-drawn carriages, were typical of a Coupé de Ville.
The Cadillac models designated as Coupé de Ville from 1949 onwards took up the name of this special body shape, but were not Coupés de Ville in the technical sense, as the driver and passenger compartments formed a single unit and were completely covered.
The 1960s at Cadillac were characterized by a long, continuous line that ran through the silhouette from front to rear. They wanted to show greatness.

The current seller purchased it in 2013 from the first owner Norma, an 82 year old lady, in Nebraska, which makes the low mileage of 43,000 miles provable.

After its arrival in Germany, all the rubber and bearings in the chassis as well as the steering and brakes were renewed. The most important thing was to preserve the originality of the vehicle and not simply replace things.
