Description

The BMW 502 is a luxury sedan built by BMW. This car can be considered the ancestor of the current 7 Series. The BMW 502 was in production from 1954 to 1958.

Mercedes-Benz was quite taken aback when BMW unveiled the BMW 502 at the 1954 Geneva Motor Show. Not an inline-six, but a V8, not 80 hp, but 100 hp. The BMW 502 immediately overshadowed the Mercedes-Benz Ponton, which had been introduced just before. The BMW 501 and 502 were affectionately nicknamed "Baroque Angels" by the public because they could so effortlessly cruise at breakneck speeds on the Autobahn. The BMW 502, with its 100 hp V-engine, even reached a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour. Very fast for its time. The BMW 502 was also the first post-war German car equipped with a V8.

This BMW 502 has been meticulously restored in recent years. However, the current owner enjoys restoring cars more than driving them. To create more space, this BMW may be sold to an enthusiast who appreciates it and will let it rack up the miles this fantastic automobile deserves.

Considering the quality of the restoration, this BMW is an excellent deal.

A comprehensive appraisal report is available with this BMW; the appraised value is €69,000.
