Introduced in 1968, BMW's elegant E9 Coupe remains one of the marque's most celebrated designs, combining graceful pillarless styling with genuine long-distance capability. Powered by the smooth and torquey 3.0 litre M30 straight-six, the 3.0 CS delivered refined performance, while the CSA variant paired this with an automatic transmission, for effortless touring. Expensive when new, in fact costing more in the UK than an Aston Martin DBS, these cars have always occupied a special place in BMW's history.
This particular BMW 3.0 CSA is a rare UK-supplied, right hand drive example, believed to be one of just 27 remaining on UK roads today. Finished in its attractive original shade of Ceylon Gold metallic, it is complemented by a wonderfully preserved dark blue interior, which displays a pleasing, honest patina. The car has clearly been cherished throughout its life and was the subject of an older restoration, the results of which still present well today. More recently, the car has benefitted from a gearbox and interior refresh carried out by the highly regarded Munich Legends, ensuring it continues to drive as intended. It has also been upgraded with a correct original Alpina steering wheel, a desirable period addition which remains in excellent condition and enhances the already engaging driving experience.

This example has formed part of The Continental Performance Collection, a thoughtfully curated group of predominantly European performance and luxury cars, selected for their engineering significance, condition and driver appeal. Having spent some time in storage prior to our vendors ownership, the car has since been treated to some recommissioning and is reported to be running and driving well.
