With the 3.0 CS and its 2800 CS sibling, BMW’s chief designer Wilhelm Hofmeister pulled off a design triumph. The car presents an almost ethereal, elongated form, complemented by the iconic “four-eyes” front. Contemporary reviewers were full of praise: “Not a sports car, but a sporting car; not a saloon, but a four-seater,” wrote auto, motor und sport. Automobil Revue put it more concretely: “The coupé is discreetly designed for an attractively sporty driving style, yet also deserves the title of comfortable touring car thanks to its heating, ventilation and seating comfort.”
The BMW 3.0 CS on offer, originally delivered in Switzerland, is naturally equipped with BMW’s popular inline-six engine, a carburettor unit producing 180 PS.
