Description

The Autobianchi Bianchina is a compact car produced by the Italian car manufacturer Autobianchi, based on the chassis and mechanical components of the Fiat 500.

It was available in several versions: Berlina (saloon), Cabriolet (roadster), Trasformabile (fixed-profile convertible), Panoramica (station wagon), and Furgoncino (minibus).

The car was presented to the public on September 16, 1957, at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan.

Initially, the car was equipped with Fiat's smallest engine, an air-cooled 479 cc unit developing 15 hp (11 kW). In 1959, the engine power was increased to 16.5 hp (12.1 kW), and in 1960, the convertible version was launched. That same year, the Trasformabile, whose displacement was increased to 499 cc and power to 17.5 hp (12.9 kW), was available in a special version with two-tone paint and an engine power of up to 21 hp (15.4 kW).

This body style had a fixed B-pillar and a partial roof, with the rest of the opening covered by a folding fabric hood, while the convertible version had no B-pillar.

The Trasformabile was the only version with suicide doors and was replaced in 1962 by a four-seater sedan.

The engine and chassis were the same in both versions.

A minor facelift was implemented in 1965, with the standard engine in the Berlina being upgraded by half a horsepower. In France, the various Bianchina models were sold under different names: the Berlina became the Lutèce, the Familiare the Texane, and the Cabriolet was marketed as the Eden Roc.

In the United States, the importer marketed them with the Fiat logo instead of the Autobianchi.

A nice touch with this Autobianchi we're offering are the original Italian documents. These beautifully detail the car's history.

This car is a simple and straightforward project.

The interior is very nice, and the engine has been running. The paintwork isn't as good.

All in all, a beautiful Italian classic car; with this classic car, you own something special.
