The Austin-Healey adventure began in 1952 with the 100, also known as 100-4 BN-1. Admittedly, not the most sexy name, but the car more than made up for it. The design was the brainchild of Gerry Coker and is still highly regarded as one of the most successful designs for classic cars.

Donald Healey was a man who realized that successes in motorsport would also mean success in selling his cars. With the 100M and 100S, he introduced two models that would become some of the most beloved classics of the brand. After debuting in 1952, Healey entered two cars in the 1953 24 Hours of Le Mans. The cars were slightly modified and finished 12th and 14th, an impressive result for their legendary racing debut. This success led Healey to offer a tuning kit for street cars under the name 'Le Mans'. The kit, available through dealers, included a highly coveted Denis Welch aluminium cylinder head, a fast camshaft with 'high ratio' rockers, high-compression pistons, and a lighter flywheel. Additionally, a 1¾" SU HD6 carburettor with intake manifold, cold airbox, and special exhaust found their way into the Healey. With the kit, the power increased from 90 to 100 hp, and there was significantly more torque and power available throughout the rev range.

A beautiful Carmine Red Healey given the full 100M conversion by Austin Healey. The car comes with the Heritage Trust certificate and also the certificate from the '100M Le Mans Registry'. A very special car, which is not only matching numbers, but also has the color scheme as it left the factory on December 23, 1954. The Healey was delivered to the first German customer in February 1955 via the dealer in Düsseldorf.

In 2020, the car came into the possession of its current owner, who meticulously restored it with great respect for its originality. The result is a car with a stunning appearance that is equally impressive to drive.

Regarding the car's quality, there is not much more to say other than it is of an exceptionally high standard. The body is truly captivating, and the red paint makes it stand out from the more common colours like off-white, blue, and green. Paired with the red wire wheels, it becomes a highly desirable classic roadster. The interior is just as impressive. Following the top-notch restoration, the 100/M features a pristine interior with black leather upholstery and red piping—truly stylish. The silver-grey dashboard contrasts beautifully, and the gauges and controls are in a state that perfectly complements the rest of the car. What an elegant place this is to be seated!

The car's mechanical condition is equally outstanding. After the overhaul, several improvements were made, such as an enhanced master cylinder, alternator, improved starter motor, 123 ignition, and a better quality water pump. Altogether, these revisions and enhancements have resulted in an exceptional driving experience. With its characteristic sound, it's evident from the moment of starting that this car provides a lot of enjoyment. And it does indeed, with its robust power and low weight, the Austin-Healey takes off like a rocket. Mid-range acceleration is a thrilling experience, and the 100/M feels right at home on twisty roads.

This Austin-Healey 100, included in the 'Austin-Healey 100M Le Mans Registry' with its corresponding certificates, also comes with a Heritage Trust certificate and Dutch registration documents. Additionally, there are invoices, restoration photos, and numerous articles featuring the Healey 100/M. In short, finding a factory 100/M with a richer history and more comprehensive documentation will be challenging.
