Before the R8 arrived, Audi was respected for quattro technology, build quality and discreet performance. But nobody really expected Audi to build a true mid engine sports car that could stand next to the established supercars of its time. Then the R8 appeared, and suddenly Audi had created something completely different: a low, wide, aluminium bodied, naturally aspirated V8 sports car with quattro all wheel drive and a design that still looks incredibly sharp today.
Today, the first generation R8 is becoming a serious modern classic, and this particular car shows exactly why. Our green over tan 2007 Audi R8 is special in so many ways. This car was owned and registered by Audi itself during its first year, and when Audi configures an R8 for its own use, you can be sure it does not choose the obvious route. You can expect a proper specification, the right options and, of course, the gearbox everybody wants on an early R8: the 6 speed manual. It is finished in Montereygrün Perleffekt, paint code LZ6B / 3R, combined with Deep Green Perleffekt sideblades. The interior is just as well judged, with Fine Nappa leather in Mustang Brown and Black, interior code JZ. And honestly, this is exactly the right match for the green exterior. Stylish, rare and far more special than the usual safe colour combinations. Exactly how a great early R8 should be.
The options list is just as strong as the colour combination. This R8 was equipped with Fine Nappa full leather trim, sport seats, electrically adjustable and heated front seats, electric lumbar support, Navigation Plus with colour screen and MMI, front and rear parking assistance with rear view camera, 19 inch 5 double spoke wheels, tyre pressure monitoring, xenon headlights with headlight washers, Climatronic, sound package, telephone preparation and folding, heated and automatically dimming exterior mirrors. So yes, Audi clearly did not hold back when configuring this car.
The history is just as reassuring as the specification. The car has a very complete and well documented service file, with early Audi dealer history in Germany and a clear Belgian history from 2011 onwards and today showing only 56.500 km from new.

The file also includes the German registration documents, the Belgian registration certificate, Belgian Car Pass, Belgian technical inspection documents and the vehicle condition report. On top of that, the car is accompanied by a large invoice file. The car was first registered in Belgium in 2011 and has remained here ever since.
So yes, this R8 is exactly what you want it to be: properly documented, recently serviced and ready to be enjoyed. For us, this R8 brings together the ingredients that matter most. The naturally aspirated V8, the manual gearbox, the Montereygrün paintwork over the Mustang Brown and Black Fine Nappa interior and the Audi first ownership gives it a story that makes it stand out immediately.
This is not your typical R8. It is an early first generation example with the right gearbox, the right colour, the right interior, the right options and the right documentation. A car that already has all the right ingredients to be seen as a true modern classic.
