In 1966, Alfa Romeo presented the first Spider at the Geneva Motor Show: the 1600 Spider. The chassis was based on that of a Giulia 105 and the design came from Pininfarina, the last model of Battista Pininfarina himself. The two-seater was given a 1600 cc four-cylinder engine of 109 hp. After a competition, the model was baptized Duetto.

In 1967, Dustin Hoffman drives around in a Spider Duetto in the film The Graduate, which also immediately made the car popular on the other side of the ocean. In the same year, the Spider already received its first update with the 1750 Spider Veloce, presented at the Brussels Motor Show. It gets the engine of the 1750 Veloce and now has 113 hp. In 1968, the Spider 1300 Junior was introduced with a smaller 1290 cc engine that provided 89 hp.

With the Fastback Spider in 1969, the styling was changed significantly for the first time. The biggest difference was at the rear of the car: the "sepia shell" was replaced by a sportier and more modern-looking straight rear. In 1971, the 2000 Spider Veloce was introduced, now with a 131 hp engine. The 2000 replaced the 1750 and a year later the 1300 was also replaced by the 1600 Junior.

This Spider comes from the USA and therefore has the Spica injection. This is a slightly pinched engine but emits slightly less CO2. It is a very sleek car with a perfect body in the color yellow. This combined with the black interior makes the car complete. Under the hood you see a dry engine that runs very nicely. It also steers, brakes and shifts perfectly. A perfect spider for the Alfa Romeo enthusiast.
