Fiat and Abarth are often mentioned in the same breath. And that makes sense: after its foundation in 1949, Abarth quickly turned its attention to motor racing. A special kit was designed for the Fiat Topolino, amongst others, complete with a matching exhaust. And it was precisely through the production of exhausts that Abarth made its name: brands such as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Maserati became customers for the exhausts Abarth produced. When Fiat introduced the 600, Abarth was quick to install a more powerful engine in the car. The aim: to create an affordable small sports car. With this car, named the Abarth 750, many racing successes were achieved.

Following the launch of the Fiat 500, an Abarth version was inevitable. And it was precisely with this small car that the brand made its name. Racing remained a key part of its activities. The brand frequently took part in the famous Mille Miglia, usually with commendable results. In 1961, Abarth even competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and won its class. But as was often the case in the past, more time was spent on racing than on making a profit. When the company ran into financial difficulties, Fiat took it over. By the 1990s, there was little left of Abarth other than a badge on the Cinquecento and Seicento. In 2007, however, Fiat decided to reintroduce the Abarth brand. A new factory was built in Turin, sporty models based on the 500 began rolling off the production line once more, and Abarth became a separate brand again, just as it had been in the early years.

The sporty Abarths are therefore inextricably linked to the Fiat 500. The car we are offering is a 2018 595 Edizione Mille Miglia. The base engine for the 595 is a 1.4 T-Jet engine delivering 180 hp. However, the engine in ‘our’ 595 has been tuned and delivers a whopping 248 hp. Furthermore, the car is equipped with larger front and rear brakes, a sports exhaust and a sportier chassis, amongst other things. And with that, it is fully entitled to bear the Abarth badge. The car is painted in Rosso Abarth and features striking striping. The interior is fitted with black bucket seats with red piping; the car does not have a rear seat. Extras include a security alarm and a Bearlock transmission lock.
The Abarth has covered 57,899 km, but many more fast kilometres lie ahead for its new owner. We would love to invite you to come and see it for yourself!
