We sell a Mercedes Benz 220 S Ponton on behalf of a customer.

With the 220 S, factory designation W 180 II, Mercedes Benz built a top-class vehicle from 1956 to 1959. It featured a six-cylinder engine and a unitary body, unlike the earlier ladder-frame designs. In July 1956, the Cabriolet of the 220 S series came onto the market as the first Mercedes Benz design without roof struts.
In August 1957, in addition to various Mercedes types, the 220 S Cabriolet also received a facelift with slight improvements and a performance-enhanced engine.

The vehicle offered by us was delivered to Cologne on September 16, 1957 to the then company Bifire (picture and film advertising). A copy of the original delivery note and the original operating instructions are still available.

The vehicle received an original Daimler Benz exchange engine. The date of installation and the mileage of the old engine are not known.
