Trade-in car. Motorsport was very active in Sweden during the 1960s and 1970s. There are also the necessary companies that were active in this area. One of these was the Sportscars Motors company, which built and maintained engines for the Swedish racing elite. However, the company also built its own racing cars. The founders, Lennart Sundin and Sven "Buris" Burehed, built a number of cars under the Focus name, including some Formula cars and later sports cars, as you can see here.
The 1968 Focus Mark V, which you see here, has a special story. Driver Picko Troberg was to participate in the World Championship Sportscars up to two-litre and the Swedish Sportscars Motors was awarded the contract. Englishman Charles Lucas built the chassis modeled on the Lotus 23, while the aluminum body was manufactured in-house. Initially, a Maserati engine was purchased for the project, coming from the Maserati Museum in Modena. Frank Williams, yes, the Frank Williams, picked up the bike and drove non-stop from Stockholm to Modena and back again and got $500 for the job, a decent amount at the time. Unfortunately, the engine turned out to be in less good condition than expected and a Ford 1600 Cosworth FVA engine was chosen as a replacement. This block is nowadays a highly sought-after power source among enthusiasts and collectors.

The car was prepared and Picko drove the 200 hp strong racer on the track several times, fortunately for now: beautiful photos are available. The last owner owned the project for about 30 years.
It should be clear that this is a project, a fantastic project with the potential to be more specific. The chassis, the body and the Ford FVA engine are present. This 1600 is coupled to a Hewland gearbox with 5 gears. The engine has track experience and has been checked and maintained by Sportscars Motors.

The original aluminum body has of course its racing scars. There are two extra fronts present with the car. The photos clearly show what is included with the car, it seems that it is largely complete. There are original racing wheels with the car. With the right knowledge, this can be turned into an incredibly fun, fast and good race car with a beautiful racing history.
