Description

This DB5 was supplied new by Aston Martin on the 17th July 1965. The first owner was a Mr Demetrios Z. Pierides of Amazon Enterprises based in Famagusta, Cyprus.

The AML factory build records show that the vehicle was originally Caribbean Pearl with Black Connolly trim. Optional extras included: Normalair air conditioning, chrome wire wheels, Fiam horns with change over switch, Walpres racing type wing mirror, 530 TB Radiomobile radio with power operated aerial and a Continental Touring Kit.

Presented today in its original colour of Caribbean Pearl, this DB5 has been extensively restored by Aston Engineering following repatriation from Cyprus in 2020. This included a body and mechanical rebuild, an upgrade of the engine to 4. 2Ltr and the retention/ refurbishment of the original rear parcel shelf mounted AC system.

Included are old photographs from the 1980s, which show the car in Cyprus along with the Turkish British style white log book issued on the 8th March 1978. (The city of Famagusta coming under Turkish control in 1974 following the invasion of Cyprus and the fleeing of the Greek Cypriots).

To conclude, on offer is an extremely well presented DB5 which we believe is the only one originally exported to Cyprus, and was retained there for some 55 years. It features from new, many optional extras, which are extremely rare but highly desirable on a RHD model.
