We are delighted to offer an exceptionally well-preserved Mercedes-Benz W111 280 SE 3.5 Coupé, built in 1971 (first registered on 8 June 1971), in the rare colour copper metallic with white leather interior.
The vehicle documents, all of which are still in their original condition, contain four entries: the first owner, an architect from Darmstadt, drove the vehicle for three years until 1974. Since 1974, the car has been in family ownership, registered to the grandfather, the father and now the current owner – maintained for over five decades, only driven in summer and always stored in a dry place. This is an authentic, honestly patinated original vehicle that carries its history with dignity and is technically and visually impressive.
The 3.5-litre V8 (M116) with 200 hp gives the coupé superior power delivery, while the automatic transmission ensures relaxed travel. The crowning glory of the W111 series, the 280 SE 3.5 was the last large Mercedes coupé to be manufactured by hand in Sindelfingen – each one a piece of genuine manufacturing history. Doors, trim and leather were individually fitted with the precision and care for which Mercedes was famous at the time.
