Lancia Flaminia Touring GT
Year 1961, first series, with internal fuel shut-off valve and mechanical fuel pump, matching numbers, original Rome license plate. It represents one of the most refined expressions of Italian motoring in the early 1960s.
Designed and built by Carrozzeria Touring using the famous Superleggera technique—with aluminum panels over a tubular frame—it embodies a perfect balance of elegance and innovative construction. The “Flaminia GT Touring” is low, compact, and lightweight (almost 200 kg less than the Pinin Farina Coupé), and offers excellent performance, surpassed only by the Flaminia Sport Zagato, which, on the other hand, could not match the comfort of the Touring.
Presented at the 1958 Turin Motor Show, the Flaminia GT was characterized by very clean lines and a four-headlight front end. Extensive glazing provided excellent visibility, while the level of finish was extremely high, as one would expect from Touring.
The car offered here is the 630nd of the 863 vehicles built between 1959 and 1961, belonging to what can be defined as the “first series”: the 2.5-liter single-carburetor version producing 119 horsepower. The example stands out for its near-original state of preservation, a feature that is increasingly rare and sought after in the world of high-end historic automobiles. The car has not undergone invasive restoration; instead, it displays an authentic patina that bears witness to careful ownership, thoughtful use, and respect for originality over time.
A symbolic automobile of Italy’s Dolce Vita era, it is an expression of sober, aristocratic style that accompanied the golden age of Italian design and cinema.
