This Daimler Double Six 6.0 V12 Majestic Long Wheel Base (LWB) is almost too beautiful and good to be true.
In October 1994, the XJ 40 series was discontinued after 8 very successful years of production, and its successor arrived.
Development had already begun in 1973 and pursued the goal of opting for the conventional Jaguar style: classic proportions combined with craftsmanship traditions (wood, metal, and leather as materials). With its proportions, flat side profile, and “hip sweep,” the XJ40 continued the traditional design of its predecessors in a modern interpretation.
Particularly in the field of vehicle electronics, the XJ 40 was one of the most technically ambitious vehicles of the 1980s. The XJ40 received the AJ6 inline six-cylinder engine made of light alloy and known from the XJ-S, with 3.6 to 4.0 ltr. displacement, as well as the sensationally smooth-running V12 engine with initially 5.3 ltr. and, in the final two years of production, the enlarged 6.0 ltr.
