Austin Healey 3000 Mk III Phase 1, year 1965.
Bodywork finished in Austin Healey Ice Blue metallic, complemented by blue leather upholstery and blue carpeting.
The car is fitted with a blue vinyl soft top and a blue mohair hood cover.
This magnificent ‘Big Healey’ was imported from the United States in 2000 and extensively restored in 2005–2006. A photo report and invoices documenting the restoration are included.
Since its arrival in the Netherlands in 2000, the car has had only two Dutch owners.
The most recent owner cherished the car from 2005 onwards and enjoyed it for 18,000 miles.
This Austin Healey is in very good condition and features “matching numbers”; a British Motor Heritage Certificate is present to confirm this. The Mk III is an evolution of the ‘Big Healey’, distinguished by its more luxurious dashboard with wood panelling, a more comfortable interior, an easy to operate convertible top, and improved rear suspension for enhanced ride comfort.
This wonderful example is equipped with desirable extras including an electric cooling fan, electronic ignition, an AC generator, a more powerful modern starter motor, and a stainless steel exhaust system. A few years ago, the gearbox, overdrive and steering gear were overhauled.
Recently, new wire wheels with new Vredestein tyres were fitted.
The strong 3000 cc straight six engine performs and sounds superbly, delivering a thrilling driving experience.
