Our 1988 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante is a rare and exceptional example of Aston Martin’s powerful open-top grand tourers. With only 11,700 miles from new, it remains one of the most sought-after versions of the marque’s iconic V8 series. As one of just 59 factory-built left-hand drive Vantage Volantes, this car is extraordinary in both rarity and condition. Originally built for the US market, these left-hand drive fuel-injected Vantage Volantes feature the desirable Vantage bodywork with its more aggressive styling, large flares and ducktail spoiler but use the same fuel injection system as standard V8 and V8 Volante models, making for a car with more than ample power and significantly increased useability over the more performance focused, carburetted X-Pack cars.
The car’s Black exterior pairs beautifully with a Parchment Vaumol leather interior, detailed with contrasting piping, a classic and tasteful combination that echoes the car’s understated yet confident character. Powered by a 5.3-litre V8 engine, the Vantage looks phenomenal unmistakably aggressive styling cues — flared arches, deep front air dam, and muscular stance.
Notable features include the highly desirable glass rear window, which replaced the less durable plastic variant found on earlier cars, and factory air conditioning, a rare but welcome addition that enhances comfort for open-air driving.
