Welcome to the ’70s. This is the car that perfectly embodies a decade when gold metallic paint and V8 engines were the answer to all of life’s problems. A time when the tax office wasn’t great at math, and everyone sparkled in glorious irresponsibility. And it was wonderful.

This 1974 Alfa Romeo Montreal comes in the outrageously extravagant and original color ‘Oro Metallizzato’ — the kind of gold that makes you want to wear a thick chain over an open polyester shirt. And we absolutely love it. The party continues inside with an interior just as striking: Avana Beige. It’s the color of a vintage tuxedo — luxurious and suave — and it feels like it’s about to offer you a bottle of Chivas Regal and a lighter. This is the car for the person who doesn’t ask for attention — they simply command it.

Beneath that brilliantly low-slung body, drawn by design god Marcello Gandini (yes, the man behind the Miura), lies proof that Alfa Romeo’s engineers were drinking from the fountain of madness. They dropped in the engine from their ferocious Tipo 33 race prototype — an advanced, all-aluminum V8 with dry-sump lubrication. And look at those headlights: those genius louvered “blinds.” Gandini must have thought, “Let’s give the lights sunglasses — they’re too cool to be on display all the time.” The Montreal is what happens when you tell a designer not to stay within the lines.

Only 3,925 of these mechanical masterpieces were ever built, making it a rare gem. And in this Oro Metallizzato specification — so rare we almost don’t want to sell it — you’ll own Alfa’s most legendary engine wrapped in their most iconic 1970s design. The Montreal is the ultimate statement car. Originally delivered in Europe and brought to the Netherlands in 2003, it has been meticulously cared for ever since.
