Super authentic and original Bertone Coupe in classic Alfa Rosso over black
The classic and beloved Alfa Romeo sports coupe of the sixties, nick named the “Bertone coupe”, here presented in its final version, the 2000 GT Veloce. Final development level with 2 liter engine producing 131hk, larger brakes on the front wheels, higher gear ratio and limited slip differential on the rear axle. Basically an identical setup as the earlier models meaning disc brakes all around, 5-speed transmission and the great “Nord” engine in aluminum with double overhead camshafts and 2 double carburetors – in this case Dellorto is fitted. With its design and technic, the Bertone coupe was the epitome of a pocket GT car. Smaller and more nimble than the larger siblings from Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini, the Bertone coupe provided much of the same spirit and driving pleasure but at a fraction of the price. Chief Technical Engineer Carlo Chiti, combined with the elegant and well proportioned design of the young Giugiaro gave the Bertone coupe from Alfa Romeo a much deserved reputation as a loved and cherished classic. Today the availability of fairly priced spare parts also makes it possible to enjoy the car at a reasonable budget.
This example is quite extraordinary a Danish car from new. Between 1980 and 2017 owned by a true Alfisti enthusiast who initially used it for daily transportation. Later the car was restored and used as a collector car. After 37 years of happy ownership sold on to another enthusiast, and only used during the summer. The car was restored years ago and has since been in good care including a rebuild of engine and transmission. Today the car presents nicely but not over restored with body and interior showing usual signs of use. The mechanical parts are very well functioning and the car drives like a classic Bertone is supposed to do, with a lovely intake noise from the double Dellorto carburetors. A well sorted out car that is ready for its next caretaker for many years to come.
Included is a comprehensive documentation file of the life of this Bertone coupe, including invoices, photos and material from the many Alfa gatherings the owners have participated in during the life of the car. All proofing true Alfisti spirit all the way.
